The Ranch Saloon + Steakhouse
Berg Hospitality Group announced and debuted the all-new, first-of-its-kind concept, The Ranch Saloon + Steakhouse, at the 2022 Houston Rodeo. Located at NRG Park on the southwest corner of NRG Astrodome, The Ranch is open each year for the duration of Rodeo season and offers patrons the opportunity to enjoy a sit-down dining experience – both casual and formal – on the NRG Park grounds, which was a first in Rodeo history when the concept debuted in 2022.
The Ranch is comprised of three dining experiences – the Saloon, Steakhouse and a carnival-style walk up window – along with two full bars offering beer, wine and liquor. The Saloon is a first-come, first-served upscale casual dining experience featuring a large main bar with nightly DJs, along with the Porch, a covered outdoor patio with cocktail tables. The Steakhouse is the fine dining side where guests can reserve tables in advance. An outer walk-up window serving a unique spin on classic carnival fare offers a take-and-go menu of elevated handheld rodeo favorites.
Now an official sponsor, Berg Hospitality Group plans to make The Ranch Saloon + Steakhouse an annual mainstay at RODEOHOUSTON®
for years to come.
Benjamin Berg
Founder & CEO
Born in New York City, Benjamin Berg has been in the hospitality business for over 20 years working for upscale hotels and steakhouses in key markets including Las Vegas, Mexico City, and his hometown. As the CEO and Founder of Berg Hospitality Group, a Houston-based restaurant group which conceives, launches, and operates restaurants in Texas, he actively manages all aspects of the company's day-to-day operations and leads a team of 20+ full-time corporate staff plus more than 800 restaurant employees. Under his leadership, Berg Hospitality has grown to 16 restaurant concepts, not counting The Ranch Saloon + Steakhouse, which is a temporary 16,000 sq. ft. restaurant at NRG Park open for only 20 days during Rodeo Houston.
With a true passion for the hospitality industry, all of Berg's concepts focus on offering excellent service, unique atmospheres and unparalleled experiences for their guests while also giving back to the local community. Berg has given countless in-kind donations to various Houston and Fort Worth charities by hosting fundraising events, donating food and staff for charity events and gift certificates for raffles and silent and live auctions. All his restaurants have participated in Houston Restaurant Weeks every year since opening, and B&B Butchers & Restaurant has been the number one donor to the Houston Food Bank for the past four years. Berg, who has rightfully distinguished himself as a philanthropic leader in Houston, founded his annual "First Responders Appreciation Day" in 2017 after Hurricane Harvey, and has continued this tradition annually by offering a complimentary 3-course meal to all First Responders. In addition, Berg is an active member of the Steer Auction Committee of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and has been a scholarship donor for the past seven years.
The "BTB" brand is the initials of owner, Benjamin Turner Berg, and a nod to his dream of retiring on a ranch somewhere in Wyoming or Montana. (He also really loves the TV show Yellowstone.)
